Our speaker for September was Teresa Henley of the Arizona Food Bank Network.
*Rebecca's Rotary Foundation Minute was about The Paul Harris Society. More information is here.
*Joan is heading up our committee to plan the online auction. She's asking everyone to contribute auction items. Committee members are also needed.
*In addition, Joan is looking for support from local businesses for our youth programs, including the dictionary program.
*Marco and Larry have been asked to write an article for Rotarian Magazine about passport clubs. Keep your eyes peeled!
* Time to make your Polio Plus contribution? Your $100 donation will be matched to $900 if you support Rebecca's Ride to End Polio (RTEP) in November. She's 14% of the way to her goal. Donate here.
* As always, service projects and events organized by other district 5495 clubs are listed here and in the calendar section of the website. Please let Rebecca know if you have something to add.
From the Prez
I was asked to do a post for the Rotary International blog on their website. While I was
working on that, a reporter for Rotary Magazine contacted me. He is doing an article
about Passport clubs and how we fit the structure of Rotary.
We are now a peacebuilder club. Larry Horton and the team have done a great job.
We are going to raise money. I know some of you set the club up with no fundraising in
mind. Participation in fundraising is optional. Any money we receive will allow us to extend our reach and do more good things around the world.
We are getting into auctions! Donations of items are encouraged for all members. The money will help us fund projects the club is passionate about. Something you have, or
someone you know. Consider it and help us achieve great things in the world!
