* DG Michelle was scheduled to make her official visit but we did not see her. We hope she is well
* We had a much-needed discussion about club finances, led by our new treasurer, Ken. In summary, Club dues have not increased in 5 years, so we're falling behind. Of the $85 in individual dues, a portion goes to RI dues, District dues, and mandatory magazine subscription. Because of this and uncollected dues, we have a significant shortfall. Ken proposed a change in bylaws such that the board will decide on the dues (currently the dues are specified in the bylaws). The members present voted in favor of this change.
Ken has been working to clarify and clean up finances. We should be caught up when everyone pays invoices which will come out in June. We are losing money on the family member 1/2 price dues. Ken's projection shows that we'll be in the red $1000 if we change nothing. He proposes that family membership be half the club dues, rather than half the whole amount billed, and that the total amounts billed would be $100 and $73 respectively per quarter. This decision will be made by the board, but the idea was well received by the membership (11 were in attendance). There were other suggestions as well.
A side note: if you have been paying $110, $25 of that goes to the Rotary Foundation. We encourage everyone to donate directly to TRF using Rotary Direct rather than through quarterly payments to the club.

* District Grant applications are due 5/30. The club decided to proceed with the dictionary project. John Burk will lead the project again.
* As always, service projects and events organized by other district 5495 clubs are listed here and in the calendar section of the website. Please let Rebecca know if you have something to add.
