What's Up

* Our speaker tonight was AG and DGN Joe Sweeney, who told us about himself and his plans for District 5495.

* Tom N presented a treasurer's report.  Finances are tight.  Please pay your dues. Marco shared plans to simplify and save money on our dues payments.

* We had a visit from Chuck Revelle, invited by Ron Williams. He splits his time between Prescott and Palm Desert, California.

* We have a new member application from
Joan Smith, who also visited tonight.  She's been a Rotarian for 28 years.  She lives in Pebble Creek. She's leaving Goodyear Pebble Creek because she and her husband travel. We'll officially induct her next month.

* Stickering and delivery of dictionaries to
third grade students (a District rant funded project) will begin soon. Stand by for further information.

* The 2024 Michael J. Harris Memorial Ride to End Polio (RTEP) was held in conjunction with the Tour De Tucson in November.  The Ride raised over $5 million, including the Gates Foundation match. This brings the total over the life of the project to over $72 million. It's never too early to start training for the 2025 Ride!

* As always, service projects and events organized by other district 5495 clubs are listed here and in the calendar section of the website.  Please let Rebecca know if you have something to add.
The Rotary International float in the 136th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade was called "On the Road With Rotary"  It won the Tournament Volunteer Award. Rotary floats are built with donations and volunteer labor, with no cost to RI or TRF.
From the Prez
The “Season of Giving” is finally over. It seems like thanksgiving accessories go up in August,
with Christmas displays a week after. I hope things went your way. Holidays can be stressful
and all we really want is some time to recharge and enjoy ourselves.

I would like to take a moment to encourage you to continue to do the good deeds Rotarians are known for. I often say that our organization needs “time, talent, or treasure” to accomplish the mission of doing good in the world.

Earlier in my life, I worked some long hours but helped with donating to many of the projects being performed by Rotary clubs in our area. We all have changing schedules and inconsistent
availability. When there is a gap in the schedule, check the newsletter, or the district website. You can find a project to help with that will move the needle and make our world a better place.
